SMS Consent & Messaging Terms

The Lutheran Student Center of Lubbock (LSC) is a Lutheran campus ministry serving students at Texas Tech University. This page explains how we collect consent to send text messages and how to stop them.

How you opt in: the only place we collect a mobile number on this website is the chat widget in the lower corner of every page on lsftech.org. When you start a chat and provide your mobile number, you give the Lutheran Student Center express written consent to reply to you and to send you the messages described below at that number. You may also give consent in person at an LSC event on a sign-up sheet carrying this same disclosure, or by texting us first. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of attending an event, receiving a meal, receiving pastoral care, or making a donation.

What messages you will receive: conversational replies to questions you send us, plus occasional updates about Lutheran Student Center gatherings — weekly fellowship meals, Bible study, small groups, Supper on Sunday, and Feeding Texas Tech events — including reminders and schedule or location changes. We do not send automated marketing blasts and we do not send messages on behalf of anyone else.

Message frequency varies; expect roughly 2-4 messages per month, plus replies in a conversation you start. Message and data rates may apply. The Lutheran Student Center does not charge for text messages.

How to opt out or get help: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or email lsclubbock@gmail.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy of your mobile number: no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates. We do not sell, rent, or trade phone numbers.
